Dental Unit of the Ark of the World
The lack of dental care in the national health system, coupled with the lack of insurance for most of the children and their mothers and the need to provide dental care for our children, prompted the Ark to organize an integrated dental unit within the day centre. Our goal is to provide preventive dental care and deal with dental problems in childhood.
For a long time, we have been looking for the way … but when you believe in something, the solution will soon come…
The idea was conceived by a couple who, instead of gifts for their marriage, wanted to raise money for a cause.
Their wish to give met the wish of a dentist friend and conjuncture brought other people’s wishes together, thereby giving birth to the project.
The inspirers, who worked until the completion of the project, thanked Father Antonios who “allowed them”, as they said, “to feel happy, being a grain of sand in the immense work being carried out”.
We would like to thank from the bottom of our heart all those who helped with zeal, persistence and patience to organise the Ark’s dental practice.
The dental practice is open every day, staffed with experienced volunteer dentists who tend to the oral care of the children.
The Ark’s dental practice became functional in November 2012 and is open every day, staffed with experienced volunteer dentists who were very happy to support our initiative for the oral health of our children, literally offering them sparkling smiles.
A special mobile dental unit was acquired in 2016, to provide preventive dental checks in remote areas and wherever there is need.
